DAM N!!! So glad you're all okay!  Thinking it might be time, never is a good one, but maybe start looking at all the hook ups.
If they did one like that they may have done more.
What? Me worry?

they were all within .05 of the surrounding wall temp so I feel a little better now
Well I flew it up there,,, now how do we get it down,,,,,,,,, NO MARK put that gun away

I have made a little more progress, I got the spoiler back together and hit it with some paint. I still have to finish the base where it attaches to the car and get the LED light installed but the overall mod is done. I got the tail light section complete and threw a little paint at it as well. it is from a rattle can and is only intended to look better than primer. I still have to add the seal around the top of the lights and install the new mud flap. this too is in it's almost finished stage. it's gotten too late in the year to do a proper paint job so I will have to wait until next spring to sand everything thing down for it's real paint job
next up is to repair the damage to the rear fender and the damage on the right front corner of the nose, I didn't have anything to do with that damage , I did participate in the damage to the rear fender  ;D

AJ,
Sounds like a typical do-it-yourself wiring job, your right about what happened, loose connections develop a lot of heat and then melt everything on the switch, especially 24 volt DC loads.

Never stab in any wires on new devices, they will fail. A lot of companies that wire houses do that and it's great for service calls.

Do you have any loads downstream thru the outlets, like Christmas lights?  I've seen entire switch boxes melt from Christmas lights, insulation and all the devices, once opened a box and it was bare copper wires, lady mentioned she thought the bathroom switch box was a little warm, it was the first stop to a outside recepticle feeding 10,000 Christmas lights, breaker forgot it needed to trip when overloaded.

Dang AJ, looks professional !  Gonna be nice when done.

Speaking of professional or maybe not, here's our magnesium valve cover back from the powder coater shop.
Finally, after having to have our main sponsor get involved(sometimes an attorney group helps) we got the whole story, and payment for the loss.

Seems the owner  there decided to take it upon himself to dip the cover, and "forgot" to tell anyone till the next day it was in the tank.  ::)  Then he decided he wasn't going to own up to the problem and pay for it. One phone call from the attorney and all is well again, new cover on it's way, and no they aren't going to get a second chance.
What? Me worry?

Well we got a little revenge on the neighbors. Wrapped up the engine install Monday night at 10:30.
So what to do?

FIRE THE MUTHER UP!!!

Of course needed to road test it too.  8) Probably woke the dead and anyone on the street would have thought it was rocket powered because of the flames coming out of the exhaust.   ;D ;D ;D
What? Me worry?
